Post Season 95 Strategy and Rules of Engagement

Dear Dson Family,

As usual the developers have changed things up and we have to adapt.

A few days ago, they changed the rewards vs losses ratio. In the past, we could raid each other and gain resources (gold and grain) without the defender losing anything.

Now, the defender will lose a significant amount of resources each time they are raided. We estimate that if a raider gets 90k gold, the defender will lose about 30k gold. So the ratio is 3:1 or higher.

We need to change our Ping Pong strategy.

Next season (Season 96) we will follow the strategy below:

1. We will set up 3 sub alliances in Bronze/Silver - Ignis, Glacis and Minis. Any DS player may freely raid the players in the Dson Mini alliance for resources. (These are actually the second/third accounts of the senior players)

When minis are shielded, players can ask the seniors over LINE to unbubble.

2. We can also raid other alliances for resources. Raid only lands. No garrison raids. No capping. (If you want lands, seniors can help you get good lands) Be aware that if you raid others, they may raid you in return. To reduce the chance of them raiding you back, we will follow point 3.

3. All Dson players will change their mine/farm islands for VP lands (forests, lakes, mountains). If you want to keep RSS lands, TD up.

We recommend going with all VP to discourage loss of RSS. Collect RSS from raiding of the Minis and from internal mines/farms. If you choose to keep mine or farm islands, be prepared to have them raided by others.

4. No Dson player should raid another Dson player without permission.

If you need RSS urgently, ask LINE chat if anyone can help. Maybe someone decided to keep a mine or farm you want to raid. Ask that player if you can raid it. Then maybe he can TD down so you can grab some gold/food.

5. We will not be sending invites next season. We will announce the name of the alliance you should join and you will search for it and join it. Too many new players have added #DS to their names hoping to be part of us. Only those on LINE group will be told of the new alliance name.

Any questions? Message me on LINE.

For New Members or Players looking in

Dear new members or DoT players who are looking in,

I'll keep this post short since the best way to get to know us is by simply playing with us in-game.

I will just highlight a few key things:

1. Read this blog. Especially the latest announcements here. Info about Rules of Engagement here, and Leadership Structure here.

2. We have an alliance culture which you can read about here. But the main things to note are:

- We are a highly organised and disciplined alliance. To fit in, you have to listen to the Cardinals as they lead and work together with the rest like a team. We do not want players who only care for their own interests and do whatever they like. If you cannot follow orders, you should move on somewhere else.

- At the end of every season, the Cardinals will create a new Dson Ignis alliance and a new Dson Glacis alliance. The Cardinals at the Academy will also create a new Dson Academy alliance. This is done so that we can control what league level we want to be in. If we want to be promoted then we will not make new alliances. If we want to stay down, then we will.

They will reinvite the alliance members to the newly formed alliances. Please stay till the end of the season to collect your rewards before accepting the invite to your new alliance.

- Because we have grown and there are now many Dson players, we want to maintain our sense of identity even though we are split into Ignis and Glacis branches. Therefore, it will be a condition for REINVITE at the end of a season to have a  #DS added in front of your names.

NEW: It will be a condition for reinvite to be on our LINE chat group.

- If you are a newcomer, you will have one whole season to decide if they want to be part of us. If you do, add a #DS tag and we will reinvite you in subsequent seasons.

If you do not have a #DS tag, we will assume that you do not want to be part of us the following season and we will not send you an invite.

3. We want to build an alliance reputation as one that treasures "Courage, Loyalty, Integrity and Fairness".

We do not accept hackers in this alliance. If you are discovered to be hacker, we will kick you and report you.

Do not cap and jump, that is not Dson culture. Do not raid garrisons or capture lands without prior permission from the player you are attacking. Before doing revenge attacks, check with a Cardinal.

Please do not trash talk in League Chat - don't insult others, don't belittle others, don't behave like an a55hole.

We will warn you if you step out of line, and if you repeatedly show that you do not belong in our alliance, we will excommunicate (kick) you.

4. Please join our LINE chat group for updates when not in-game. Add the following LINE ID: dssmorgasbord.

For Dson Newbies

Dear newbies, I'll do a bit of FAQ for you here. Message me on LINE if you want another FAQ added.

1. What is Ping Pong (PP)?
2. How does Dson do PP?
3. Can I Ping Pong garrisons?
4. Can I PP with other alliances?
5. What do I need to do for PP?
6. What is TD?
7. How do I TD up or down?
8. What does neutral lands / free lands / unoccupied lands?
9. Which unowned land should I capture?
10. What is VP?

1. What is Ping Pong (PP)?
Changes to PP have been made. See here.
- PP is when a player raids another player's lands for resources (gold, food, vp). Raiding lands does not cost the defender anything. The attacker gains resources (rss) but the defender doesn't lose anything. It is called ping pong because both parties have an agreement to cooperate (not get upset about being raided).

2. How does Dson do PP?
Changes to PP have been made. See here.
- Dson splits into 2 or more sub alliances every season for ping pong. The understanding is that any Dson (#DS) player may raid any other Dson player. The PP agreement is always in effect among #DS players.

3. Can I Ping Pong garrisons?
Changes to PP have been made. See here.
- No. When you raid a garrison, the defender loses resources. The defender may be saving gold for upgrades or food to train troops. Taking his resources is no good. Do not raid Dson garrisons.

4. Can I PP with other alliances?
Changes to PP have been made. See here.
- Sometimes the cardinals will make an agreement with another alliance. These alliances will be announced on the Latest Updates section of this infoblog. You may PP with players from cooperating alliances.

- Alternatively, you may make your own agreement with individual players.

5. What do I need to do for PP?
Changes to PP have been made. See here.
- First TD down on your lands (especially gold mines and farms). You may keep TD up on your Garrison and on VP lands (lakes, mountains and forests).

6. What is TD?
- TD is Titan Defence. It is the action of placing a titan and its assigned troops onto a land to defend it. TD down means remove your titan defences and TD up means to place your titans defence onto your lands.

7. How do I TD up or down?
- To TD up, go to your land overview (bottom left button with 3 castles). Select the land you wish to TD up on. Click Defend. Choose your titan. Press the Troops tab to assign troops to your titan. Then click Defend.

- To TD down, go to your Titan Hall, scroll all the way to the right and select the titan on defence. There will be a little circle arrow button in the centre of the screen. Press it then click OK. Your titan is back!

8. What does neutral lands / free lands / unoccupied lands?
- There is a cluster of islands directly to the North of your alliance in Land Overview mode. These lands belong to no one and you may capture them to add to your Kingdom. You should capture lands from here instead of from other players.

9. Which unowned land should I capture?
- When you are just starting out (level 15 and below), don't bother about VP lands (lakes, forests, moutains). The senior players will provide VP for the alliance. You should concentrate on growing and upgrading by only holding gold mine and farm islands.

10. What is VP?
- VP stands for Victory Points. You can get VP from raiding/capturing lands and garrisons. You also get VP by collecting VP from VP lands (lakes, forests, mountains).

- VP is used to determine an alliances ranking at the end of each season. The amount of VP from each player is added up to form the alliance's VP. The higher your alliance's VP, the higher the rank at season end and the better the rewards each player gets.
